A photoblog about Russian tourists failing to park in Lappeenranta.
You can't always make it!
Excellent blog, Thanks mate. Very good that you also opened same thing for Finns' crazy parking. You can set up a RUS-FIN game - each wrong parkering counts one. I recommend erasing license plate from the pictures, though.
Why should the license plates be erased? Pictures are taken at public places after all. If one does not care about laws and rules, why should it matter if his license plate was visible at some web page?
I think it is totally ok to have the licence plate visible. Then this blog might even have some influence on the parking style :)
Gotta love them..
Could be an excellent source for getting money for persistently descending GNP... if finnish customs had some business spirit of course. :) Just imagine: you have clear evidences like picture of the car and it's registration plate and usually also some useful data in the picture file like date taken can be provided, so what can be easier - next time when this person comes to Finland, the nice looking guy with adorable smile behind the desk presents him those evidences and tells to pay some extra for getting further. The "extra" can be calculated against how luxury person's car looks like. :)
I envy the care-free attitude that these drivers obviously have! I love it how you can see they've just driven there, stopped their car in the spot they arrived to without thinking about it. It's great!
And practical, too - we can get rid of the annoying white lined grids that mark the parking spots!
Public place - public registerplate. : )
Why not use the german attitude . Once my friend parked my MB on a wrong spot in Rostock. I lost the enblem on the hood ))) If you wonder why so many cars imported from Germany have long scratches on sides ... they vere parked wrong , or the owner is idiot. Germans say nothing , they just keep sharp key or screwdriver in pocket )))
Just start revoking Finnish visas from repeat offenders. And also if parking tickets go unpaid. It's not difficult and certainly effective - you'll think twice about incorrect parking if you can't visit your summer cottage for a couple years. The worst thing that could happen would be to drop visa requirements completely. This problem for one would become intolerable.
I really feel for the finnish people. They are unfortunate to have russia so close to their border..
Oh, if you saw some finnish people in St-Petersburg (after some bottles of vodka), you'd have to think once more, who is more unfortunate.
I was today in the Prisma and there were side to side finnish and russian car, both in the invalid parking slot. At least the finns didn't have anything wrong with the fysics of their body. Idiots on both sides :-).
"Finns do this too" is not a valid argument to mitigate parking violations committed by Russians in Finland.
no visa for Russians ever
And what are you going to eat?
Don't worry. Nowadays more and more embassies are granting long schengen multi-visas in Russia. Recently we have got half-year visas from Spanish embassy in Saint-Petersburg, we waited only for three days. It takes almost three weeks to get a Finnish visa.In Moscow the situation is much better, Spanish, French and Italian embassies are granting even two-year multi-visas.In the coming years more and more people will switch from Finnish to other visas.
